The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has asked transport departments nationwide to take measures to prevent corruption and tighten management in driving training, examinations, and license issuance.
The move was made after recent inspections by the ministry on driving training and examination activities at driver training centers uncovered some alleged violations.
The MoT passed on information regarding two centers exhibiting signs of corruption to police for investigation.
Transport departments were also required to clarify the responsibilities of individuals and organizations for allowing shortcomings and wrongdoings happen in driving training, examining, and license issuing activities.
They were instructed to adopt measures to address any issues found to ensure quality and transparency in driving training, examining, and license issuing.
Since the beginning of the year, the MoT has set up inspection groups to check on driving training and examination activities at driver training centers in all 63 localities before April 15.
The country currently has 149 driving examination centers, 343 centers for motor car driving training, and 463 centers for motorbike driving training.
