Visiting Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue proposed that Vietnam and Uruguay continue to push trade relations to boost two-way trade revenue.

During talks with Speaker of the Senate of Uruguay Beatriz Argimon Cedeira and Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay Sebastian Andujar on April 27 in Montevideo, Chairman Hue said Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge for investment and trade activities between Uruguay and Southeast Asia.

He proposed that Uruguay and members of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) soon complete procedures on internal consultation and announce the introduction of the Vietnam - MERCOSUR free trade agreement with Vietnam at an early date.

Hailing Vietnam as a dynamic developing country with an important role and position in the Asia-Pacific and the world, the leaders of Uruguay’s parliament said they believe that cooperation with Vietnam is a great opportunity for Uruguay’s regional and global integration process.
