North-central Nghe An province attracted $890 million in FDI in the first eight months of this year, according to the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee.
It granted licenses to 79 new investment projects from both domestic and foreign investors with total registered capital of over VND26.1 trillion ($1.08 billion).
The figure represents year-on-year increases of 2.6 per cent in number and 1.4 times in capital.
In August alone the province licensed ten new FDI projects with total capital of over VND4.26 trillion ($177 million).
Total newly-registered and additional capital from domestic and foreign investors during the eight-month period was estimated at over VND28.8 trillion ($1.2 billion).
Nghe An has adopted different measures to attract foreign investment in recent years, including introducing new investment attraction policies, supporting infrastructure development projects for industrial parks, and organizing investment promotion activities.
