Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Trung has asked appropriate agencies and departments to tackle the difficulties and obstacles to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital.

Disbursement has been low. As of August 10, the north-central province had disbursed some VND2.43 trillion ($102 million), or 34.18 per cent of the annual target.

Mr. Trung asked relevant agencies and departments to improve bidding tasks and contractor selection to accelerate project implementation and ensure progress is on schedule.

He also asked investors of projects with low disbursement to report on disbursement progress to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment once every ten days.

He directed the provincial Department of Planning and Investment to not grant licenses to new projects from investors that have failed to meet disbursement requirements.
