The People's Committee of Nghe An province in central Vietnam has officially approved a comprehensive housing development program aiming to add 53.7 million square meters of housing floor by 2030.
The plan will require a total investment capital of nearly VND522 trillion (over $19,9 billion).
According to the program, a significant portion of the development is slated for the 2025–2030 period. The overall targets for the decade include 26.8 million sq.m of commercial housing and 4.1 million sq.m of new social housing.
The plan also anticipates that individuals and households will self-build approximately 12.63 million sq.m of housing, while the province will develop 78,000 sq.m for public servants and 60,000 sq.m for resettlement projects.
Beyond new construction, the initiative includes targeted support for vulnerable communities. The province will assist 6,796 low-income households facing housing difficulties through national programs.
The program also emphasizes upgrading the quality of existing housing. A key objective is that by 2030, 90% of all homes in the province will be equipped with integrated electricity, water supply, and wastewater drainage systems connected to the region's main infrastructure network.
To facilitate this development, the plan outlines significant land requirements, including 586.7 ha to be allocated for social housing projects.
