The Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee plans to invest more than VND29 trillion ($1.2 billion) in housing development on a total floor area of over 3.57 million sq m by 2025.
The total floor area for commercial housing will be over 704,300 sq m, or 4,696 units, and for social housing nearly 90,000 sq m, or 1,998 units.
Land needed for housing construction is estimated at 696,89 ha, including 195,66 ha for commercial housing, 3,75 ha for social housing, and 496,38 ha for housing developed by residents.
The committee said the south-central province has developed many high-rise buildings but has largely failed to meet housing demand.
The province has set a target of increasing the average housing area to 25 sq m per capita by 2025.
Ninh Thuan currently has 13 social housing projects under construction.
It is calling for investors to build other social housing projects.
