On August 9, in the Mekong Delta’s Long An province, Organon, a leading global healthcare company, proudly announced the establishment of a foreign-invested enterprise (FIE) in Vietnam, highlighting its commitment to addressing the unique healthcare needs of women across the Asia-Pacific region and further solidifying its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.

“We are thrilled to begin this new chapter in Vietnam, a country with immense potential and a growing demand for quality healthcare,” said Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Ha, Country Lead at Organon Vietnam, during the launch event. “Our goal is to introduce innovative solutions that cater to the unique healthcare needs of Vietnamese women. By establishing Organon as an FIE, we aim to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of women and their families around the country.”

Organon’s expansion in Vietnam focuses on critical issues such as declining birth rates and unintended pregnancies. Nearly half of all pregnancies in Vietnam are unintended, posing significant challenges to women’s health and well-being. These often result in unsafe abortions, contributing to maternal mortality and other severe health complications.

In collaboration with the Vietnam Population Authority, Organon has conducted a series of initiatives to improve access to contraception and reproductive health education. This includes a new digital education resource and hotline aimed at women aged 19 to 24 years of age. Through such efforts, Organon aims to empower women with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

Organon’s entry into the Vietnamese market signifies its long-term commitment to investing in local talent, fostering innovation, and contributing to the overall development of the healthcare sector. The company plans to introduce a range of healthcare products and services tailored to the needs of Vietnamese women, ensuring they have access to the best possible care.

Organon is a global healthcare company focused on improving the health of women throughout their lives. The company has a portfolio of more than 60 medicines and products across a range of therapeutic areas. Led by the women’s health portfolio, coupled with an expanding biosimilars business and a stable franchise of established medicines, Organon’s products generate strong cash flows that support investments in innovation and future growth opportunities in women’s health. Additionally, Organon is pursuing opportunities to collaborate with biopharmaceutical innovators looking to commercialize their products by leveraging its scale and presence in fast-growing international markets.
