Some 25,196 vehicles from different brands were sold nationwide in August, making an increase of 12% compared to the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA)
Of these, 19,129 were tourism cars, down 16% month-on-month, while commercial vehicle rose 1% to 5,901.
Top ten brands in terms of sold vehicles in August included Mitsubishi Xforce (2,504 units), Ford Ranger (1,274), Mazda CX-5 (1,070), Toyota Vios (1,010), Mitsubishi Xpander (1,003) Hyundai Accent (937), Toyota Yaris Cross (927), Ford Everest (812), Hyundai Creta (613), and Toyota Corolla Cross (577).
In terms of vehicle origins, over 12,000 domestically-assembled cars were sold in August, down 13% month-on-month and more than 13,100 imported completely-built units (CBUs) were sold, dropping 13% against a month earlier.
