Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has asked the Central Steering Committee on the Prevention and Control of Corruption and Negative Phenomena to concentrate on directing investigations and quickly bringing to end major cases that have drawn public concern.
These include cases involving the Viet A Technologies JSC, the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department, the FLC Group, the Tan Hoang Minh Group, the Van Thinh Phat Group, and the Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC).
Chairing the 23rd session of the Committee on January 12 to review operations in 2022 and decide on a working agenda for this year, Party General Secretary Trong said it is necessary to review and address loopholes and inadequacies in policies and laws relating to banking and finance, the autonomy of public non-business units, securities, corporate bonds, construction planning, and bidding.
He also sought the quick completion of revisions to the Land Law, the Law on Bidding, the Law on Property Auction, and draft laws relating to anti-corruption work.
Authorized agencies seized and froze assets of over VND364 trillion ($15.5 billion) from corruption cases last year.
