Party General Secretary, State President To Lam leaves Hanoi for State visit to China

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on August 18 morning for a state visit to China.

This is the first overseas trip made by Mr. To Lam since he was elected as Party Secretary General in August 3.

During the August 18 – 20 visit, General Secretary and President To Lam is accompanied by Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Mr. Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organization; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theory Council; Gen. Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; Sen. Lieut. Gen. Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations; Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee; Mr. Tran Luu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; among others.

The bilateral relationship between Vietnam and China has maintained its positive development in all fields over the past time, thus further deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building the Vietnam – China community with a shared future.
