Party General Secretary To Lam visited the Bulgarian defense industry company Samel-90 on October 24 within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria from October 22-24, according to a report from the Vietnam News Agency.
There, President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev personally introduced the Vietnamese Party leader to Bulgaria's defense industry, highlighting the key capabilities and products of Samel-90 Defense Industry Company.
General Secretary Lam stated that Vietnam advocates building and developing a proactive, self-reliant, dual-use, and modern defense industry, making it a spearhead of the national industry to protect independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; advocating multilateralization, diversification, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with all partners, including Bulgaria.
He expressed his desire to share experiences and promote defense cooperation in general and defense industry cooperation in particular between the two countries in the coming time; cooperating in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and electronic remote sensing equipment, etc.
With Samel-90 Company's experience and capabilities, the General Secretary proposed that the company coordinate with functional agencies and units of Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense and Vietnamese defense enterprises in specific fields, suitable to the needs and capabilities of each side.
General Secretary Lam affirmed that the Party, State, and Government of Vietnam are ready to support and create conditions for Samel-90 Company and other reputable Bulgarian defense industry enterprises to exchange with Vietnamese defense industry enterprises to introduce products, explore areas of cooperation suitable to the needs and capabilities of the two countries, and participate in exhibiting products at the International Defense Exhibition in Vietnam.
