The Ha Nam Provincial People’s Committee granted an investment certificate to PepsiCo Foods Vietnam on December 19 to invest VND2 trillion ($82.2 million) in building a factory in the northern province.

Construction of the 8-ha project at the Dong Van I Industrial Park is set to get underway in 2024, marking PepsiCo’s 30th year in Vietnam, and is scheduled to enter into operations in the third quarter of 2025.

Utilizing renewable energy, regenerative agriculture, and digital solutions, the project will expand its material sources beyond Ha Nam province to the northern region, aiming for an annual output of 23,000 tons of snacks for the Vietnam and Cambodia markets.

Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Ha Nam Provincial People’s Committee, asked PepsiCo Foods Vietnam to focus resources on finances, human resources, and machinery and equipment to implement the project on schedule, put it into operation shortly, and contribute to promoting the province’s socio-economic development. During implementation, it is recommended that the company pay attention to environmental protection, ensure social security, create livelihoods for local people, and fully fulfill its State budget obligations.

A representative from PepsiCo Foods Vietnam said the company commits to strictly complying with laws on investment, construction, land, and environmental protection, fulfilling its financial obligations to the government and implementing the project on schedule, ensuring quality and contributing to boosting socio-economic development in the area.

With Japan’s Suntory as its partner in Vietnam, PepsiCo Foods Vietnam now operates 14 factories and distribution centers in the country, employing 13,000 people. Popular products include Lay’s, Poca, Doritos, Quaker, Pepsi, 7 Up, Aquafina, and Sting.
