Vietnam exported 6.42 million tons of rice worth $3.54 billion in the January - September period, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has reported.
Exports rose 19.5 per cent in volume and 13.7 per cent in value year-on-year to $551.1 per ton.
The Philippines, China, and Indonesia remained the three top export markets, accounting for 64.5 per cent of the total, in which the Philippines topped the list.
It imported 2.44 million tons of rice worth $1.29 billion from Vietnam in the first nine months.
Vietnam exported 858,848 tons and 884,177 tons worth $495.78 million and $462.61 million to China and Indonesia, respectively.
Figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs reveal that Vietnam’s rice exports to RCEP and CPTTP markets reached 4.64 million and 459,451 tons, respectively, up 29.7 per cent and 7 per cent against the same period last year.
