Phu Yen looking to build Tuy Hoa Airport’s Terminal 2

Airport expected to welcome 1 million passengers a year by 2025.

The Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee has proposed the construction of Terminal 2 at Tuy Hoa Airport, with total investment of some VND1.5 trillion ($62.6 million).

Upon completion, Terminal 2 will be able to accommodate 3 million domestic passengers a year and 5 million if expanded to meet increased demand.

The provincial People’s Committee proposed that the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises assign Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to prioritize the use of development investment capital in the 2021-2025 period to build Terminal 2.

The project is expected to be implemented in the 2023-2025 period.

Capacity currently stands at about 500,000 passengers annually and the terminal can be expanded from 697 ha to 1,000 ha to meet rising passenger numbers.

It has been forecast that the terminal will welcome 1 million passengers annually by 2025.

In line with the master plan for the development of Vietnam’s airports by 2030 with a vision to 2050, Tuy Hoa Airport is to be capable of handling 3 million passengers a year.
