The Pleiku Airport in the Central Highlands’ Gia Lai province will be upgraded to be able to handle 4 million passengers and 4,500 tons of cargo per year.
Under the planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 that the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has submitted to the Ministry of Transport for approval, the airport will be upgraded to class 4C, and Level 2 military airport, to cater big aircraft.
By 2050, the airport’s capacity will increase to 5 million passengers and 12,000 tons of cargo annually.
Currently, the airport’s passenger terminal covers an area of over 3,174 sq m, being able to serve 600,000 passengers per year.
