PM calls for acceleration of key transport projects

Transport projects must ensure that progress remains on schedule.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked ministries, agencies, and localities to accelerate the appraisal, approval, and implementation of key transport projects, according to a press release from the Office of the Government on June 26.

He asked the Ministry of Transport to guide contractors on promptly completing procedures with localities to exploit mines to ensure sufficient materials for the construction of the Eastern North-South Expressway in the 2021-2025 period.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment was tasked with coordinating with authorities in Hanoi and Cao Bang and Thai Binh provinces to speed up the appraisal of reports on the feasibility of Sub-project No. 3 of Ring Road No. 4 in the Hanoi capital region and the Dong Dang - Tra Linh and Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Thai Binh Expressway projects.

The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Construction to coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to examine and put projects into operation as well as supervise and instruct localities on publicizing prices of construction materials.

The People’s Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were asked to accelerate the construction of the Nhon - Hanoi and Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro projects.

Localities were instructed to speed up the appraisal and approval of investment plans for key expressway projects, including the Nam Dinh - Thai Binh, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh, and Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressways.
