Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed the Ministry of Transport to kick off construction of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway section in Vietnam’s north, in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), on January 1.
Chairing a conference on December 28 to review the transport sector’s performance in 2023 and discuss tasks for 2024, Prime Minister Chinh also asked the ministry to try to complete procedures to begin construction of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway section linking the southern region with the central highlands, as well as the Nam Dinh - Thai Binh expressway section in the Red River Delta.
These are three important transport projects in three different economic regions, including one disadvantaged economic region and two key economic regions - the central highlands, the Red River Delta, and the south.
The Prime Minister also suggested solutions to the issues facing the sector in completing its tasks in the new year, including optimizing innovation and scientific-technological advances in the implementation of key projects to ensure their progress and quality, and promoting administrative procedures to cut input costs for businesses and individuals.
He also applauded the sector for fulfilling its tasks and targets for the year, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
