Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged businesspeople to embrace their pioneering role in leveraging opportunities created by international integration and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Chairing a meeting with permanent Government members and businesspeople in Hanoi on October 4, in celebration of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 2004-2024), the Prime Minister emphasized that this day honors entrepreneurs and encourages them to contribute further to the nation.

He affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always welcome and support businesspeople, who have played a crucial and pioneering role in driving socio-economic development and enhancing the country’s reputation and position on the international stage.

Acknowledging the growth in both the quantity and quality of Vietnamese businesspeople, the Prime Minister noted that many have established a strong presence in the region and globally.

PM Chinh called on them to innovate traditional growth engines, harness new drivers, and engage in emerging global trends and sectors.

He also urged businesspeople and enterprises to propose ideas to the Government and the Prime Minister to improve institutions, mechanisms, and policies, thereby facilitating their operations.

Furthermore, he encouraged them to enhance their social responsibility, play a more active role in ensuring social welfare, and continue supporting disadvantaged groups, including those in remote, border, and island areas.

The Agency for Business Registration at the Ministry of Planning and Investment reported a surge in new enterprise formations and reactivations during the first eight months of 2024. With an average of 21,000 new businesses established per month, the total reached 168,076.

This trajectory indicates that 2024 will likely surpass the previous record of 159,000 new enterprises set in 2023, marking the third consecutive year of such growth.

Since 2015, excluding the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021, the number of newly established enterprises has consistently risen.
