Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked authorities in central Quang Tri province and contractors to focus on tackling difficulties to accelerate construction while he was inspecting key transport and industrial projects in the province on July 22.

Projects include the construction of the 65.7km Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway, a section of the Eastern North-South Expressway, with total investment of VND6.65 trillion ($281 million) mobilized through issuing government bonds.

The Prime Minister also inspected the construction of National Highway No. 15D, which connects the La Hay International Border Gate with My Thuy Port and the Cam Lo - Lao Bao Expressway to form a road parallel to the East-West Economic Corridor, contributing to increasing trade activities via the border gate, which is the second largest in Quang Tri and connects the country with Laos and Thailand and forms a developing triangle between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Other projects include the construction of My Thuy Port in Hai Lang district, which is designed to handle vessels of up to 100,000 tons and has total investment of over VND14.2 trillion ($599 million), and the 500-ha Quang Tri Industrial Park, which has total investment of over VND2 trillion ($84 million).
