Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant ministries and agencies to highlight the potential, strengths, and competitive advantages of the Red River Delta when building the region’s master plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision towards 2050, the Government News has reported.

Chairing a conference of the Coordinating Council for the Red River Delta Region, held in Hanoi on December 7, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized that the region has a special position and role, contributing over 50 per cent of national GDP.

It is considered a gateway connecting China with ASEAN by both road and sea routes.

The government leader also asked for more attention to be paid to digital transformation, energy transition, the development of renewable energy industries, the agricultural economy, and the development of key industries when drafting the master plan.

He instructed relevant ministries and agencies to continue collecting opinions from experts, scientists, and the public on the master plan.
