Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant agencies to speed up construction of Ring Road No. 4 passing through Hanoi capital and Hung Yen and Bac Ninh provinces.
He made the call while inspecting construction on January 27.
The road is some 112.8 km in length, with around 58.2 km in Hanoi, nearly 19.3 km in Hung Yen, and some 35.3 km in Bac Ninh.
The project has total investment of over VND85.8 trillion ($3.73 billion), more than VND28.1 trillion ($1.18 billion) of which will come from the State budget and over VND28.19 trillion ($1.22 billion) from local budgets, with the remainder coming from the build-operate-transfer (BOT) venture.
Construction began last year and is slated to be basically completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027.
It is expected to help ease population density and traffic congestion in Hanoi’s inner city areas and gradually change the local economic structure along the road. The road will also strengthen connectivity and create breakthroughs in the socio-economic development of Hanoi and neighboring areas.
