The program seeking a million initiatives to overcome the difficulties and fight Covid-19, launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) in 2021, made important contributions to stabilizing and restoring production and business activities and implementing the political tasks of agencies and units, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony in Hanoi on October 8 to review the program, which got underway on September 1, 2021.

The program has received more than 2 million initiatives, with many producing profits totaling VND33 trillion ($1.35 billion).

Vietnam went through unforgettable days preventing and fighting the pandemic, which were full of pain and loss but also extremely emotional and worthy of pride. The country flexibly adapted to and effectively controlled the pandemic, and has since stepped up socio-economic recovery and development efforts, which have been greatly appreciated by the international community, he said.

However, he also noted that the country will continue to face many difficulties and challenges in the future, and called for the engagement of the entire political system, people, and businesses to successfully implement the 2023 socio-economic development plan, the 2021-2025 socio-economic development program, and the 10-year socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030.
