Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has proposed that Vietnam and the Philippines renew their existing cooperative drivers such as investment and trade while promoting new endeavors, including digital transformation, green transition, and climate change adaptation, the Government News has reported.

Addressing a meeting with businesses and Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. in Hanoi on January 30, the Prime Minister noted that there remains ample space to boost cooperation between the two countries.

He stressed that Vietnam commits to accompanying and creating favorable conditions for Philippine businesses to invest in and operate successfully in Vietnam.

President Marcos suggested that the Strategic Partnership expand its reach to enterprises, especially those operating in the areas of innovation, towards sustainable development, so as to bring practical benefits to the two countries and for regional peace, stability, cooperation, and development.

He said he believes that Philippine companies will continue expanding cooperation and investment in Vietnam, which is viewed as a dynamic and developing country, while Vietnamese companies should see the Philippines as a market of potential for investment and business cooperation.

He recommended that the two sides continue developing their cooperation across the traditional fields of economy and trade and other non-traditional fields such as mining, green technology, transport, and technology.

The meeting drew the attendance of many Vietnamese and Philippine enterprises engaged in infrastructure development, trade, real estate, automobiles, aviation, IT, food, energy, and education and training, among other sectors.
