Vietnam will continue to perfect its investment environment, regulations, policies, and infrastructure and develop high-quality human resources, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told visiting Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Kamikawa Yoko during their meeting in Hanoi on October 10, the Government News has reported.
Prime Minister Chinh proposed that the Japanese Government provide the necessary conditions for Vietnamese businesses to engage more deeply in Japan’s global supply chains.
He expressed his appreciation of Japanese Government ODA to Vietnam and proposed the two countries coordinate closely to accelerate urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, along with the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital’s second facility.
The Prime Minister called on Japan to help Vietnam in the building of an independent and self-reliant economy and in its industrialization and modernization process, while providing new-generation ODA for large-scale strategic infrastructure projects such as roads and railways.
Ms. Kamikawa affirmed Japan’s support for Vietnam to realize its goal of becoming a developed and high-income country by 2045. She also underlined Japan’s commitment to strengthening ties in such fields as green transition, digital transformation, and climate change response, and to encourage Japanese businesses to continue investing in Vietnam.
