Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived at Sao Paulo International Airport on September 23 (local time) to begin an official visit to Brazil at the invitation of the country’s President Lula da Silva.

Brazil has become Vietnam’s biggest trading partner in Latin America and second-largest in the Americas, just behind the US, with two-way trade standing at $6.78 billion in 2022.

The visit by Prime Minister Chinh from September 23-26 is expected to facilitate the trade of more products between the two countries, especially farm produce.

The Prime Minister and Brazilian President are scheduled to have talks, hold a joint press conference, and witness the signing and handover of cooperation documents between the two countries.

The visit is made on the eve of the 35th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations next year. Its outcomes will therefore add meaning to the milestone, guiding the elevation of bilateral relations to new heights in the future.
