Network to connect seaports, airports, and economic corridors.

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has issued a plan to develop transportation in a modern and comprehensive manner in the six localities constituting the southern region by 2030 with a vision towards 2045.

Localities include Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, and Tay Ninh provinces.

Under the plan, the MoT will continue to develop the national logistics network to link with seaports and airports, especially the under-construction Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai and the Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep water port in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, as well as international border gates, key economic corridors, and inter-regional trade routes.

The ministry will apply advanced technology, promote services to support transportation, and improve logistics service quality.

Information technology and new technology trends such as automation, AI, and the Internet of Things in transportation and logistics will be applied in management and administrative tasks.

The ministry will also encourage businesses to enhance investment in container transport by rail and inland waterway, improve the capacity of container loading and unloading, and renew and modernize means of transport.
