Proposal to import old trains from Japan rejected

A proposal from the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) to import 37 old train carriages manufactured between 1979 and 1982 from Japan has been rejected, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT). The trains do not meet shelf-life requirements under law.
