Vietnam’s unemployment rate in the first quarter of the year was 2.25 per cent, much lower than the global average of an estimated 5.8 per cent, according to Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung.
During the opening quarter, 51.1 million people aged 15 or over had jobs, or 113,500 more than in the previous quarter and 1.1 million more than in the first quarter of 2022, figures from the General Statistics Office show.
Meanwhile, the number of unemployed people totaled 1.05 million, down 65,100.
However, Minister Dung noted that the number of trained workers with degrees or certificates was still low compared to developed countries in the region, at 26.4 per cent.
