Northern Quang Ninh province anticipates a complete recovery in the local tourism sector by 2024, welcoming 16 million tourists, including at least 3 million international visitors.
This is included in targets set in a newly-signed decision approving a project to recover and sustainably develop Quang Ninh’s tourism sector by 2025 with a vision to 2030.
The province aims to welcome about 17.5 million visitors, including 4.5 million foreigners, by 2025.
Under the project, the local tourism sector targets green and sustainable growth in connection with the protection and promotion of traditional cultural values.
One ambitious objective is to push for the sector to quickly recover and strongly develop, to help build Quang Ninh into a regional and international tourism hub offering high-end recreational services with a full infrastructure system and diverse, unique tourism products.
By 2030, tourism is to become a key and sustainable economic sector in the province, hosting at least 25.5-26 million visitors, including 8.6-9 million foreign visitors. It is expected to post average growth of 10-11 per cent in tourist numbers in the 2025-2030 period.
