Northern Quang Ninh province plans to build 25,000 social houses by 2030, a 40 per cent increase compared to the target assigned by the Prime Minister.

It will implement ten projects this year to build 7,034 social houses, equivalent to 85 per cent of the target set for 2021-2025 period.

To reach the goal, Quang Ninh is speeding up the implementation of all social housing projects, focusing on preparing detailed planning, proposing investment plans, completing related procedures, and quickening construction progress at approved projects.

The provincial Department of Construction plans to allocate 50,000 resettlement houses to boost site clearance work.

Quang Ninh has also set a target of increasing the average housing floor area to 28.1 sq m per person.

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tuong Huy said the development of social housing is among the important tasks in boosting socio-economic development and raising efficiency in investment attraction as well as improving people’s living conditions.
