The People’s Committee of central Quang Tri province has approved an investor for the Cam Lo Wind Power Plant and granted in-principle investment approval for the Phuc Loc Tho Wind Power Plant.
The two projects have a combined capacity of 400 MW and total estimated investment of more than VND15 trillion ($570 million).
The Cam Lo Wind Power Plant will have a capacity of 200 MW and total investment of VND6.5 trillion. The project will be developed in Hieu Giang and Con Tien communes, with an operating term of 50 years.
Under the approved schedule, basic infrastructure construction will be carried out from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027, followed by construction and equipment installation from the first quarter of 2027 to the second quarter of 2028. The project is expected to complete acceptance testing and commissioning before beginning commercial operations in the second quarter of 2028.
The Phuc Loc Tho Wind Power Plant will also have a designed capacity of 200 MW and is expected to generate 515.86 GWh of electricity annually. The project has estimated investment of VND8.507 trillion and a 50-year operating term.
It is planned for Bac Gianh Ward, Dong Trach and Hoan Lao communes, covering approximately 69 hectares of land and water surface. The project's commercial operation targeted no later than 2029.
