Total revenue from toll collections on the four expressways managed by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) stood at over VND4.5 trillion ($189 million) in 2022.

The figure represents a year-on-year increase of 36.4 per cent.

The four expressways are Cau Gie - Ninh Binh, Noi Bai - Lao Cai, Da Nang - Quang Ngai, and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay.

The total number of vehicles travelling on these expressways was 53.3 million last year, up 41.3 per cent against 2021.

The Corporation completed the installation of an automated toll collection system on the four expressways in August. This was among the bright spots for the Corporation in 2022, meeting the requirements of the Prime Minister in applying advanced technology to improve the effectiveness of expressways.
