Saigon High-Tech Park (SHTP) and Siemens Electronic Design Automation (Siemens EDA) - a member of the Siemens Group - signed a cooperative agreement on February 28 that will leverage the advantages and experience of SHTP in training human resources for the semiconductor industry as well as harness Siemens EDA’s expertise in providing design software and coordinating IC/PCB (integrated circuit, printed circuit board) design training activities.

Associate Professor Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board at SHTP, believes the agreement will grant the Park’s trainees access to advanced technologies in semiconductor design and testing. Trainees will also have the opportunity to gather practical working experience to achieve success in the high-tech field.

She added that the partnership with Siemens EDA will help improve the operations of SHTP’s Electronic and Semiconductor Center (ESC), contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City’s semiconductor industry along with Vietnam’s economic development.

SHTP’s leadership has determined that workforce training in the electronics and semiconductor sectors is currently its main priority, aiming to develop the city’s semiconductor industry. It is also a step in transforming SHTP into a scientific - technological center, fostering innovation, and serving as a nucleus and growth driver for the southern region and the country as a whole.

At the signing ceremony, Ms. Nina Lin, Vice Chairman and Siemens EDA Regional Director for ASEAN and Taiwan (China), emphasized that the world is going through a period of rapid technological change. The digital transformation process is accelerating, with multiple companies integrating AI and machine learning into their systems to expedite this process.

As a leading technology enterprise, Siemens EDA not only provides its clients with the necessary technology to stay ahead in the digital transformation process and construct a brighter future, but also supports workforce development training for industries, especially the semiconductor industry.

Established in 2002, SHTP currently has 162 active investment projects, many of which are from multinational corporations. Siemens EDA, meanwhile, is a leading global company with comprehensive technology solutions, from the design to manufacturing of semiconductor products.

As part of the signing ceremony, delegates visited the ESC, a collaborative model between the Training Center of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park and Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company.
