South Korea’s SK Group proposed implementing a new technology project producing green hydrogen and storing carbon dioxide in Vietnam during a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Canberra, Australia, on March 8, the Government News has reported.

SK has implemented a series of carbon-neutral liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in South Korea, Australia, and Timor Leste. These projects use natural gas sources to produce green hydrogen and make use of gas mines that were fully exploited to store carbon dioxide released during the production process, according to SK.

Its projects therefore create clean energy because they collect and store 98 per cent of the amount of carbon dioxide released.

Prime Minister Chinh asked the SK Group to work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and relevant agencies to move forward with the project.
