Software outsourcing (IT outsourcing) abroad has become a niche for many technology companies, bringing Vietnam hundreds of millions of USD each year.
According to Research and Markets, the global outsourcing market is estimated to reach a value of $769.7 billion this year, with an annual compound growth rate of 5.54%.

The market value could exceed $900 billion by 2027. Assuming continued compound growth of about 5.5% per year, the outsourcing market value reaching the $1,000 billion mark by 2030, globally, is entirely feasible.

Given these projected values, outsourcing will be a much "easier" field, especially since this direction aligns with Vietnam's competitive advantages.

"Currently, it is difficult for companies to launch products successfully in overseas markets, and successful products are rare. Therefore, outsourcing is the inevitable path and suitable for many Vietnamese businesses at the moment," said Mr. Dang Van Tu, Chief Technology Officer at CMC Global.
He stated that technology outsourcing is a suitable direction for Vietnam at present.

“Developed markets such as Japan, the US, and Europe are experiencing a significant shortage of resources and need to save costs. Meanwhile, Vietnam has an abundant, inexpensive tech workforce. Moreover, technology is constantly changing, and our workforce is quick to adapt and capable of responding to these changes,” said Mr. Tu.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology and Communications Industry (Ministry of Information and Communications), the biggest advantage that Vietnamese businesses have when going global is their high-quality but low-cost workforce.

In comparison to the global average, the salary of a Vietnamese IT engineer is only one-tenth, while the quality of the products they produce is highly regarded, he said.
