Southern Dong Nai province targets to complete construction of nearly 10,000 social houses this year, according to the provincial Department of Construction.
They include over 1,000 units that are under construction and nearly 8,800 units that are scheduled to be built this year.
Additionally, the province plans to kick start 7 new projects with 8,000 units if investors are chosen.
At a recent meeting held to tackle obstacles facing the implementation of social housing projects, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha said the local authorities place great importance to the construction of social houses. However, some projects still faced delay.
In order to accelerate social housing projects, the authorities asked the provincial Department of Planning and Investment to build detail plans to choose investors for the seven housing projects, renew and simplify investment appraisal procedures, and review planning for social housing projects.
