The Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee has granted an investment license to the Sunny Group for construction of a plant producing electronic components and automobile accessories, covering nearly 43 ha at the WHA Industrial Park 1 in the north-central province and with total investment of $150 million.
The Sunny Automatic Quang hoc Vina plant is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2025 and employ an estimated 20,000 workers.
It will focus on manufacturing electronic components such as camera modules and surveillance cameras for mobile phones and automobiles, infrared lenses for cars, and other electronic products.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said the granting of the investment license to the Sunny Group marks an important milestone for the province, as it brought its annual FDI attraction to $1 billion for the first time.
In the first nine months of this year, the province attracted total FDI capital of $1.27 billion, ranking it eighth among the country’s 63 cities and provinces.
It now has 130 FDI projects with total registered capital of nearly $3.85 billion.
