6th Plenum of 13th Party Central Committee opens

The sixth plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee opened in Hanoi on October 3 and is expected to last for a week. Many key issues will be discussed and decided on, such as Vietnam’s socio-economic development plan and State budget estimates for 2023, the State finance budget plan from 2023 to 2025, and the national master plan from 2021 to 2030 and vision to 2050.

Deputy PM adjusts investment and development expenditure from central budget

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has signed a Decision adjusting and supplementing estimates on investment and development expenditures from the central budget in 2022 for ministries, central agencies, and localities. Nearly VND3 trillion ($126 million) was cut from nine ministries and central agencies and two localities, to supplement estimates for the Vietnam Development Bank and the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.

Da Nang using its advantages to become a major logistics center

Central Da Nang city has a particularly favorable geographical location and is one of the coastal gateways in the East-West Economic Corridor, with the potential to become part of a global production and supply chain network due to connections with the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Under its plan, the city will have five main logistics centers on a total area of 229 ha. The most prominent is the Lien Chieu Port Logistics Center, which will be on 30 ha by 2030 and 69 ha by 2045.

Issues persist in aviation law

After consulting with businesses and analysts on a draft report on the implementation of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Law, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has made a series of comments. Analysts believe there are still many inadequate regulations on civil aviation when the State intervenes in production and business plans or restricts aircraft procurement activities, hindering the development of the sector. To solve the problems, the VCCI made two important suggestions relating to utilizing the resources of enterprises and aircraft parking issues.
