The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs believes that labor markets both domestically and internationally will recover quickly. It has been forecast that many occupations will see recruitment accelerated during the last quarter of the year. The Ministry will balance the country’s workforce and those heading abroad in a way that is most beneficial to workers.
According to the General Statistics Office, in the first half of this year, about 1.2 million people were unemployed, or 2.4 per cent of the workforce. Meanwhile, textiles and footwear - two of the most labor-intensive industries in Vietnam - have been short of workers in recent years.
According to recruitment services provider the Navigos Group, businesses wishing to expand their operations and those undergoing transformation and restructuring will need to employ a large number of IT engineers in the second half of 2022.
Industries with high recruitment demand, such as processing and manufacturing, real estate, banking, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), are forecast to see even greater demand over the remainder of 2022.
