Construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat airport to begin in Q4
Construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, with a capacity of 20 million passengers a year, is expected to begin in the fourth quarter and be put into operation in 2024, helping to increase capacity to 50 million a year. The city’s People’s Committee has approved a plan to recover 16 ha for construction.
Traffic at Tan Son Nhat Airport to be tackled
Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan has signed a document for the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) requesting that it direct Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate closely with the City’s Department of Transport on organizing traffic. The Ministry also requested the acceleration of infrastructure projects, to resolve traffic problems at the country’s busiest airport.
Planning for HCMC should include airport urban area
The potential of Tan Son Nhat International Airport and surrounding areas in Ho Chi Minh City are yet to be fully exploited. Analysts believe it is necessary to include the airport’s urban area in the adjusted general planning for the city to 2040 and vision to 2060.
