Construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, with a capacity of 20 million passengers a year, is expected to begin in the fourth quarter and be put into operation in 2024, helping to increase capacity to 50 million a year. The city’s People’s Committee has approved a plan to recover 16 ha for construction.
Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan has signed a document for the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) requesting that it direct Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate closely with the City’s Department of Transport on organizing traffic. The Ministry also requested the acceleration of infrastructure projects, to resolve traffic problems at the country’s busiest airport.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the Ministry of Transport to direct agencies and units to urgently prepare to begin construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City in the third quarter of this year. Terminal 3 has a capacity of 20 million passengers a year and total investment of nearly VND11 trillion ($470.43 million), increasing capacity to 50 million passengers a year.
