Northern Thai Binh province earned over $2 billion from exports in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 8.7 per cent, figures from the provincial Statistics Office show.
Key export products include garments, which earned over $1.1 billion, up 2.88 per cent year-on-year, footwear, with $203.4 million, up 18.4 per cent, vehicle spare parts and equipment, with $176 million, up 25.5 per cent, and seafood, with $24 million, up 65 per cent.
Asia is Thai Binh’s biggest export market, accounting for 53 per cent of its total. Exports to the region stood at over $1 billion during the nine-month period, a 14.7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
Exports to South Korea were estimated at $339 million, up 13.4 per cent year-on-year, and to Japan $287 million, 23 per cent.
The Americas was the second largest export market, with $577 million, followed by Europe with $191 million.
