The Hau Giang Provincial People’s Committee has given the green light to a third sub-project within the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway in the Mekong Delta with investment of over VND9.6 trillion ($406 million).
Passing through An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang, the 188-km expressway has total capital of more than VND44.3 trillion ($1.9 billion). The six-lane expressway will have a speed limit of 80 km/h.
This third sub-project will connect Chau Thanh district with Phung Hiep district in Hau Giang province and stretch 37 km. Construction is scheduled for 2022-2027, with over 259.7 ha of land to be reclaimed.
Construction was approved by the National Assembly last June.
