Developing strategic transport infrastructure is considered an important measure to help the Red River Delta region develop rapidly and sustainably with suitable economic restructuring, according to Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Ky.
He made the recommendation at a conference in Quang Ninh on February 12 to promote the government’s action plan to implement the 13th-tenure Politburo’s Resolution No. 30-NQ/TW on orientations for socio-economic development and safeguarding defense and security in the Red River Delta to 2030 and vision to 2045, held under the chair of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The Prime Minister said it is necessary to adopt specific measures and roadmaps to connect local resources to remove obstacles and speed up construction at transport projects.
Apart from transport infrastructure development, Mr. Ky also proposed other solutions to develop the Red River Delta, including building outstanding mechanisms and institutions and promoting green development and urban development.
The Red River Delta comprises Hanoi, Hai Phong city, and Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, and Quang Ninh provinces.
