Transport ministry calls for projects to be sped up

The Ministry of Transport has asked localities, agencies, and investors to identify measures to speed up progress at transport projects and meet deadlines.

Twenty-three projects need to start this year, including five key national projects scheduled to kick off before June 30. Progress at many existing projects, however, remains slow, according to the ministry.

The five key national transport projects are the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway, Ring Road No. 4 in the Hanoi capital region, and Ring Road No. 3 in and around Ho Chi Minh City.

Public investment assigned to the transport ministry in 2023 is the largest ever, totaling VND94.161 trillion (nearly $4 billion).
