A trio of international trade exhibitions dedicated to manufacturing, packaging, and semiconductors opened simultaneously in Hanoi on October 13, running through October 15, 2026.

The joint event features three co-located expos: the International Processing and Packaging Exhibition and Conference (ProPak Hanoi 2026); the 11th International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition (MTA Hanoi 2026); and the International Electronics and Semiconductor Exhibition in Vietnam (SemiTronics Vietnam 2026).

ProPak Hanoi 2026 showcases advanced technologies and solutions across packaging, food processing, beverage engineering, raw materials, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and cold chain systems. Positioned beyond a conventional equipment showcase, the event serves as a benchmarking platform for enterprises to evaluate technology against operational efficiency, equipment uptime, and capital return, thus helping them select optimal solutions and mitigate risks during production modernization.

Focusing on precision engineering and advanced manufacturing, MTA Hanoi 2026 features high-precision machinery, multi-axis CNC centers, cutting tools, metrology and quality control equipment, industrial automation systems, and smart factory management solutions. The exhibition convenes leading domestic and foreign technological brands, including two dedicated South Korean national pavilions.

Organized under the theme "Propelling Vietnam’s Electronics Industry into a New Era," SemiTronics Vietnam 2026 brings together 100 brands from five countries and territories. The exhibition highlights production equipment, back-end packaging and testing (OSAT) materials, electronic components, industrial park infrastructure, and foreign investment support services.

Speaking on the event's scale, Mr. Ian Roberts, Senior Vice President for Asia at Informa Markets, noted that this year's combined edition features more than 300 exhibiting companies from 20 countries and territories. The event incorporates international pavilions, specialized technical seminars, training workshops, and curated B2B matchmaking sessions.

The convergence of these three foundational sectors within a single venue establishes an integrated B2B ecosystem, unlocking opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access cutting-edge machinery, accelerate investment partnerships, and raise domestic value-added rates across flagship industries.

Delivering remarks at the opening ceremony, Mr. Chu Viet Cuong, a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam Industry Agency (VIA), affirmed that precision mechanics, food processing and packaging, and electronics and semiconductors constitute foundational sectors crucial to Vietnam’s industrialization, modernization, and international competitiveness.

According to Mr. Cuong, Vietnam remains a prime destination for foreign direct investment, particularly in processing and manufacturing. The foreign-invested sector has contributed substantially to gross domestic product growth, exports, technological transfers, and the establishment of regional and global production networks.

However, in this next phase of development, elevating the capabilities of domestic enterprises—particularly small- and medium-sized enterprises and supporting-industry vendors—has become an imperative.

"We must pivot from relying primarily on investment attraction toward building domestic manufacturing capacity, raising local content rates, and strengthening Vietnamese enterprises' integration into global supply chains," Mr. Cuong said.
