Two sections of a bridge spanning Dao river in northern Nam Dinh province were connected on September 18 as part of the second phase of the project building a backbone road connecting the province’s marine economic zone with the Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway.
The bridge, linking Y Yen and Nghia Hung districts, is 762 m long and 12m wide.
It is expected to open to traffic in the fourth quarter of this year.
The road project has a total length of 46 km, going through 16 communes. Its total investment capital is estimated at over VND5.32 trillion ($214 million).
The first phase of the project was carried out in 2017-2021 period and the second phase scheduled to last from 2022 to 2025.
Upon its completion, the road will contribute to completing the province’s key transport infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development. It will help to narrow the travel distance between the North-South Expressway to the Rang Dong Industrial Park in Nam Dinh from 72 km to 46 km.
