Two sub-projects of North-South Expressway opened

Total length of expressways in Vietnam stands at 1,700 km.

The Ministry of Transport in cooperation with authorities in south-central Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan provinces held a ceremony on June 18 to open the Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressways.

These are two sub-projects within the Eastern North-South Expressway.

Construction of the Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway began in 2021, with total investment of over VND5.5 trillion ($234 million).

The four-lane expressway, running for 49 km, passes through Dien Khanh and Cam Lam districts and Cam Ranh city in Khanh Hoa province.

Meanwhile, construction of the 101-km Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, which runs through Binh Thuan province, kicked off in 2020. The six-lane expressway has total investment of over VND10.85 trillion ($462 million).

The opening of the two projects brings the total length of expressways in Vietnam to over 1,700 km.
