Uncompleted section of HCMC’s Ring Road No. 2 may proceed

City’s People’s Council to hear proposal on restarting construction of 2.5-km section.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has asked that the municipal People’s Committee propose the next session of the municipal People’s Council approve a project on building an uncompleted section of Ring Road No. 2 connecting Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard and Pham Van Dong Street.

Investment for the 2.5-km-long section is estimated at over VND4.5 trillion ($185 million), including nearly VND2 trillion ($82 million) for site clearance, which is less than half of the initial estimate.

If approved, construction would begin in the third quarter of 2025 and be completed by 2027.

Ring Road No. 2 has a total length of 64 km, with four sections totaling 14 km still to be completed, including the section between Vo Nguyen Giap and Pham Van Dong.
