The US Department of Commerce (DoC) has extended the deadline for issuing its final conclusion into an investigation into wooden cabinet products from Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam.

The notification from DoC stated that the final conclusion will be issued on April 5.

DoC has also decided to extend the deadline to deliver its preliminary and final conclusions to April 19 and July 18.

The investigation into the product scope of Vietnamese wooden cabinets and trade defense tax evasion were launched by DoC in May and June 2022, respectively.

In September 2023, DoC issued a notice adjusting the preliminary conclusion from March 2023, in which it listed three cases of wooden cabinets imported from Vietnam containing components suspected of being manufactured in China.

According to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam, since April 2020, the US has imposed anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties on wooden cabinets originating from China, with anti-dumping duties set between 4.37 and 262.18 per cent, while anti-subsidy duties have ranged from 13.33 to 293.45 per cent.
