The Vietnam - EU Economic and Trade Forum 2023 is taking place in Hanoi from November 9-11 with the theme “Economic aspects of EU-Asian relations”, the Government News reports.

Jointly held by the University of Economics and Business (UEB) at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the Krakow University of Economics in Poland; the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; and the Vietnamese Business Association in Europe, the Forum is focusing on issues relating to green growth and sustainability, Associate Professor Nguyen Truc Le, President of the Council of UEB, said.

“Over the past two decades, the EU has defined itself as one of world’s leading countries in supporting, promoting, and applying policy initiatives related to sustainability across the globe,” he went on. “The EU has always financed sustainability activities and projects in developing countries, including Vietnam, which is one of the countries most affected by climate change. Therefore, the experience of countries in the EU is significant in the process of realizing targets that Vietnam sets towards sustainability.”

With a general meeting and three sessions, the Forum aims to dig deeply into the economic relationship between Vietnam and Asian and EU countries in the context of globalization, sustainable development, and climate change response; connect trade, service, and investment partners in Vietnam, Asia, and the EU; assess the current situation and seek solutions to remove technical barriers in international trade; and provide policy, financial, technical, and social solutions towards the goal of promoting sustainable development, green growth, and climate change response in Vietnam, Asia, and the EU.
